On the occasion of World AIDS Day, The Debate and anchoring Community of S.S Jain Subodh Girls PG College ,Sanganer along with Red Ribbon organised an insightful and engaging Debate Competition on 1st December to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and promote informed discussions among students. The event aimed to educate the youth, dispel myths, and emphasise the importance of empathy and prevention.
The topic chosen for the debate was “HIV AIDS- myths and facts VS self or compulsory testing.” Participants from different departments showcased their perspectives through well-structured arguments supported by facts, examples, and current data.
A panel of experienced faculty members served as judges, Dr Kavita tak and Dr. Jyoti Joshi evaluated the participants on content, clarity and overall presentation.
After a close competition, Shruti Sharma (M.Sc F Botany)secured the first position, followed by Rajnandani (B.Sc Sem III) and Saumya Sharma (B.A Sem I) secured second position. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the Debate Club members, participants, judges, and volunteers.
The competition successfully achieved its goal of spreading awareness and encouraging open dialogue on HIV/AIDS.
